G-Eazy First Thought the Britney Spears Collab Was a Scam: Video Interview

It's always an honor when the world's biggest pop princess asks you to hop on a song, but sometimes you have to question if it's real or not. Right before G-Eazy's performance at this year's Lollapalooza, we caught up with the rapper about his "Make Me..." collaboration with Britney Spears.

"I was on tour in Australia and we got the email. I thought it was a scam or something. Like what? She wants me?" he told us. "So I was like 'find a studio in Melbourne tonight. I'll go after the show and knock it out.' With something like that, you don't say no and you don't wait."

The Oakland rapper also dove into his close friendship with frequent collaborator with Bebe Rexha and his recent feature on YG's "FDT (Fuck Donald Trump)" remix alongside Macklemore:

"The world needs this. And us being artists, we have platforms and have a voice that's amplified. It's scary what's going on man and we should be scared, we have to talk about it. Because if that man is elected for president, it's bad for all of us."

After checking out our chat with G-Eazy, watch a throwback video of the rapper at his first Lollapalooza show below:
