R. City's members have found balance in their work lives by promoting their new What Dreams Are Made Of album while still producing and writing for other superstars. The "Locked Away" duo tell us they were recently in the studio with two acts set to make waves in 2016: Meghan Trainor (who's set to drop her new single "No" next month) and Iggy Azalea (whose Digital Distortion album is slated for later this year). Theron and Timothy Thomas let us into the root of their inspiration:
"Our work ethic has been strong from the beginning and that comes from our father. Our father used to make us rehearse two-to-three hours a day before we would get to go outside to play. Where we're at right now, we're on the road right now, we don't have as much time as we used to, but we're still getting in the studio and writing for other artists."
The guys say they've had terrible jobs to fund their hustle (blowing up balloons, working in a supermarket), but Theron sums it up nicely: "We know we come from literally sleeping on the floor. For us, it's like 'Yo, if work is all it takes to stay successful, I'd rather work until it's over."
