This fall, Paul Wall released Slab God, his seventh solo studio album, less than a year after Po Up Poet--but don't mistake speed for ease. The Houston rapper went completely back to the drawing board to make more "conscientious" music, filled with the deep lyrical content his fans often cite as one of his strengths.
Here's what he had to say to FM:
"I made the album with the thought process in mind, I wanna do something that's different than what's going on in the music industry, different than what's going on in the Houston scene. Any song I had with substance were the songs that people [found] the most memorable."
