No doubt about it, Sam Smith and Mary J. Blige mesmerized with their duet of "Stay With Me" at the 2015 GRAMMYs. But the Best New Artist winner tells Fuse that the R&B queen had a lot of practice when the time came to discuss a potential live collaboration.
"She just approached me," Sam reveals. "She actually cut 'Stay With Me,' a version of it, without telling me. [She] played it to me and I fell in love with it."
No wonder it sounded soooo good. Can we get that MJB version released ASAP, by the way??
Fuse talked to Sam Smith at last year's GRAMMY Awards, when the still-unknown singer was pinching himself after watching the show while working as a bartender the year before that.
We also caught up with Smith to see how his night went down a year ago. "I was in the back, the very, very back," he says. "I couldn't go to a party afterwards...so it wasn't the greatest experience, but seeing Beyoncé perform last year was amazing."
