Sure, everyone knows "Somebody to Love." But you've never heard it like this.
On the U.K. version of The X Factor, Queen performed their iconic hit with current frontman Adam Lambert handling vocals. In a rare televised performance for the rock band, the outfit roared through a stirring rendition of the track in front of a massive audience and current X Factor judges like Simon Cowell and the Spice Girls' Mel B a.k.a. Scary Spice.
Adam's vocals were on point, hitting all of Freddie Mercury's dramatic embellishments, while still keeping the extraordinary flair that helped him capture fans and critics' hearts during his American Idol days. His bandmates looked like they were having an incredible time too, with Brian May on guitar rocking out alongside Lambert.
The whole affair ended with X Factor contestants coming out to perform the choral "Find me somebody to love" bridge before Adam absolutely kiiiilled it with a humongous, jaw-dropping belt.
Back in 2012, Adam told us that one of his goals while fronting Queen was to "pay respect [to Mercury] a tasteful way." We think mission accomplished.
Simon Cowell was a notoriously tough Idol judge, but his standing ovation for Adam & Co. proved that the reality show alum has made his former mentor more than proud. Can the Queen tour come back to America ASAP?
