Last summer System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian crushed his fans' dreams when he said there were no plans for a new SOAD record. We haven't heard much from them since, with the exception of guitarist Daron Malakian, who contributed to Linkin Park's sixth studio album The Hunting Party. While there's still no promise of a new tour or new music, the internet has provided a SOAD-themed treat: A mashup of the award-winning flick The Wolf of Wall Street and "Chop Suey." Ever wanted to watch Leonardo DiCaprio give his best spine-tingling howl? The wait is over!
The clip lasts only about forty seconds and begins with the song's identifiable opening scream of "Wake up!" The scene is set with Leo commanding a room of stockbrokers and giving an impassioned speech. It works surprisingly well, with DiCaprio's face bright red with rage and contorting like Serj's in the infamous circle stage video.
As MetalSucks points out, this isn't the first time metal music has been set to The Wolf Of Wall Street. Earlier this year someone paired the same scene with Swedish heavyweights Meshuggah. Will this become an ongoing trend? Will Leo ever leave the silver screen for a hardcore stage?
