Ed Sheeran and 'The Fault in Our Stars' Were a "Match Made in Heaven"

In addition to being one of the year's most anticipated films, The Fault in Our Stars boasts a stacked soundtrack featuring names like Ed SheeranCharli XCX and Grouplove. To find out how they penned songs for such an emotional film, Fuse correspondent Yasmine Richard caught up with all three artists at the official soundtrack listening party at YouTube Space LA.

Sheeran, who contributed "All of the Stars" with help from Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid, credits his reputation for writing powerfully moving songs. "The movie and book are quite emotive, and I think people think I write emotive songs. So, I guess, it was a match made in heaven!"

Fellow rising British star Charli XCX strived to deliver "a dumb chorus" that featured a "very rock-and-roll-high-school kind of vibe," while rock band Grouplove were inspired by the timelessness of young love.

The Fault in Our Stars opens June 6 nationwide.
