Travie McCoy Plays Surprise Set At MSG's Garden of Dreams Prom

Gym Class Heroes frontman (and solo star in his own right) Travie McCoy made a surprise appearance at Madison Square Garden's Garden of Dreams' first-ever prom yesterday night, much to the delight of the 52 teenagers in attendance.

The nonprofit charity is dedicated to helping children facing incredible obstacles fulfill their dreams—and the rapper/singer couldn't be happier to be a part of it. He told Fuse News, “It was great to see all those kids having a great time.”

McCoy's set was intentionally unannounced: "I tried to have an element of surprise. I didn’t want them to just announce me and have me come out.”

When Fuse News host Georgie OKell asked the entertainer exactly why he agreed to perform, he responded, "It’s the least I could do. It’s amazing what [Garden of Dreams] are doing. I’m just honored that they picked me."
