Future Black History: You Oughta Know

As part of Future Black History, we're highlighting organizations founded by Black creators that are empowering members of the community, whether it's career mentorship, economic empowerment, or redistributing something simple to those in need. These are the cool organizations paying it forward that You Oughta Know! 

#1Black Girls Code

Founded in 2011 by Kimberly Bryant, Black Girls Code is a non-profit that provides resources and education black girls in STEM fields. BGC provides support, encouraging girls to be “innovators in STEM fields, leaders in their communities, and builders of their own futures” with the ultimate goal of training 1 million girls by 2050.
