Gerard Way's 'The Umbrella Academy' TV Show Is Officially Heading to Netflix

UPDATE (7/12): It's official! Netflix has picked up Gerard Way's The Umbrella Academy for a live-action series. The 10-episode drama will air sometime in 2018. “I am thrilled that The Umbrella Academy has found a home at Netflix," the artist said in a press release. "I couldn’t think of a better place for the vision Gabriel Ba and myself had when creating the comic, and cannot wait for people to experience that world as a live action show."

Steve Blackman (Fargo, Netflix's Altered Carbon) is set as The Umbrella Academy's showrunner, and will executive produce alongside Bluegrass Television, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg and Way.
