Chainsmokers Respond to Nickelback Comparison With Sick Mashup

That's one way to answer to your haters.

The Chainsmokers responded to a recent Esquire article that likened the "Closer" duo to much-maligned-yet-at-one-time-chart-topping rock act Nickelback. Writer Matt Miller found similarities between the two acts' "genre cliches," "shameless sexism" and "schmaltz." (Esquire's words, not mine) And Miller even went so far as to say that while Nickelback foreshadowed the end of post-grunge arena rock, the Chainsmokers are likely to lead to EDM's downfall.

Drew Taggart and Alex Pall took to Twitter for a quick response, sending Esquire and Miller a live mashup of their recent single "Paris" with Nickelback's "How You Remind Me."
