Billie Joe Armstrong has already dominated the punk rock world, and now the Green Day frontman is ready to make his Hollywood debut with Ordinary World. The movie's trailer, which premiered today, stars Armstrong in his first major onscreen role.
Written and directed by Lee Kirk (The Giant Mechanical Man), the comedy follows former musician Perry (Armstrong) as he tries to readjust to living a normal life again after his band's 10-year hiatus. When his daughter and wife (Selma Blair) forget his 40th birthday, he and his rowdy pals throw an awesome-looking hotel party. Chris Messina, Fred Armisen and Judy Greer also make appearances.
Ordinary World, which is also the name of a song on Green Day's upcoming album (smart cross-promotion), will hit theaters on Oct. 14. On the music front, the band is dropping their 12th LP Revolution Radio on Oct. 7, with its accompanying tour kicking off Sept. 20 in St. Louis. Check out those dates here.
