The bullish Star Wars box office forecasts won’t stop pouring in: after breaking Thursday-night records, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is eyeing the biggest domestic opening day ever, with a total take of $100+ million.
Box Office Mojo reports that Disney has declared a $100 million target for Star Wars’ opening day at the box office. That number would include the $57 million the film made from Thursday night screenings, and if it passes the $91 million opening day haul of 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, would stand as the biggest opening day of all time in North America.
