The Killers' Brandon Flowers Announces Solo LP, 'The Desired Effect'
Last summer we reported that the Killers' frontman Brandon Flowers was writing and recording a sophomore solo album. The Las Vegas rockstar told NME he was working with Ariel Rechtshaid, known for his work with HAIM and Vampire Weekend. Flowers said the producer pushed him creatively, adding, "[Rechtshaid] is taking me out of my comfort zone. Normally I make demos and they're pretty similar to how the song ends up. but he'll take a song and be like, 'I hear this'. It's incredible—his palette and his range, what he's able to say. At first we were butting our heads together, but now we're hitting it off."
Today the "Somebody Told Me" singer has dished out more detail, announcing the title and release date of the full-length. It's called The Desired Effect, and it's dropping May 18.
