Avicii Returns With Genre-Defying "The Days" ft. U.K. Superstar Robbie Williams
After Avicii proved that twangy country and EDM could live harmoniously together on "Wake Me Up" and "Hey Brother," the Swedish DJ/producer is back with another genre-defying single featuring British rock-pop star Robbie Williams.
Refusing to stick to one sound, "The Days" opens with acoustic guitar strums before knocking synths get quickly added to the mix. The track moves into a snap-heavy, piano-led pre-chorus section and later goes to a fizzy, glitch-pop dance breakdown.
In a similar vein to "Wake Me Up," the song's lyrics center around wanting to be in the moment and not miss out on what life has to offer. Robbie Williams declares in the chorus, "These are the days we've been waiting for / And days like these you couldn't ask for more / Keep them coming 'cause we're not done yet / These are the days we won't regret."
Williams is a superstar throughout Europe and the world-record holder for most tour tickets sold in a day. Will he finally get his stateside spotlight via this Avicii collabo? Don't forget Avicii boasts the most streamed song ever on Spotify.
