6/23 Story: A few months ago, Joel & Benji Madden of Good Charlotte shocked the world by officially confirming they still existed.
Now 5 Seconds of Summer can corroborate that report by releasing the studio version of their song "Amnesia," a heartfelt ballad co-written by the Madden Bros.
Instead of bursting with the youthful energy of a Good Charlotte classic or a typical 5 Seconds of Summer jam, acoustic guitar takes precedent on "Amnesia." Although the lyrics are sure to tug at many a tweenage heartstring, we can't help but wish the boys would drop the pretense of heartbreak and get back to delivering insanely catchy punk-pop anthems. Or at least come up with better lyrics than "Because I'm not fine at all" between two bands and six people.
Listen to it above and keep your fingers crossed that the forthcoming Good Charlotte/One Direction collaboration has a little more kick to it.
