Despite releasing their third album Midnight Memories just last November, members of One Direction are back in the studio putting together new material. Over the weekend, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson were in Los Angeles working with — who else?! — Good Charlotte.
"Good day today w/ @Louis_Tomlinson and @Real_Liam_Payne lotta laughs #1D #Directioners their new album is crazy. homies!! #Noice," wrote Benji Madden on Twitter. His brother Joel, meanwhile, posted the above photo of the two with Liam to Instagram.
Each individual member of the boy band reportedly works on material individually before the group gets together to really shape their songs, so it's possible that nothing will come of these sessions. Nonetheless, it's a bit odd to see members of pop's most popular group working with a one-time pop-punk band that hasn't charted a single in America in years.
But if British tabloids are to be believed — let's pause for a second to let that statement settle — then the boys of 1D recently signed a contract that calls for them to release an album every year for the next three. In which case, maybe it doesn't hurt to find out what the Madden brothers have up their sleeves.
