Lil Wayne Says Next Album Will Be His Last
Over the course of his career, Lil Wayne has released 10 solo albums, seven collaborative albums, dozens of mixtapes and hundreds of one-off tracks, but he swears his next album will be his last.
In an interview with MTV, the New Orleans rapper said that "25 to 35 million will get me to do another album after this." Right after that statement, he looked at the camera and said "I didn't smile when I said that," to indicate that he's being serious about quasi-retiring.
He continued in more concrete terms: "I personally plan on this being my final solo album. It's definitely the final Carter album, we're stopping at five," he said in reference to his famed serious of records.
Of course, we have seen rappers renege on retirement before, and if the money is there it would be hard for Wayne, or anybody, to walk away.
