Whitest Kids You Know: Arcade Fire Cover Boyz II Men's "Motownphilly"
Thanks to Arcade Fire, the cast of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are no longer the whitest people to attempt a cover of Boyz II Men's "Motownphilly."
While playing the City of Brotherly Love last night, the indie megastars delivered a version of the Philly R&B group's debut single.
Despite impressively mining disco grooves on Reflektor, the Arcade Fire sound way out of their element tackling New Jack Swing. Specifically, listening to Win Butler stammer "Boyz II Men" at the 1:24 mark makes you realize they may be a versatile band, but they have no swagger to speak of.
Listen to it above and check out The Gang's slightly more impressive version of the 1991 classic below.
