2014 Winter Olympics Soundtrack: Katy Perry, Gavin DeGraw & More
For 16 days this February, we watch athletes from across the globe compete for top honors in hockey, figure skating, snowboarding and more with a select group of songs soundtracking these stirring displays of athleticism. With the 2014 Olympics at their midway point, we've created a playlist of the music defining the Sochi Olympic games.
In the opening ceremony, t.A.T.U. busted out "Not Gonna Get Us" and Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" was awkwardly re-imagined by the Russian Police Choir. Our playlist also includes songs NBC selected to hype up the games, like Katy Perry's anthemic "Roar" for early Sochi commercials and "Intro" by rising post-hardcore band Close to Home, airing in the latest promos. NBC also released a special music video featuring 2014 Olympic hopefuls while The Voice champ Danielle Bradbery belted out her inspirational tune, "My Day."
Plus, there's the official song of Team USA 2014, Gavin DeGraw's "Everything Will Change," and even a song by Slovenia's gold medal-winning ski racer Tina Maze titled "My Way Is My Decision."
Get inspired with a playlist of official 2014 Winter Olympics songs below, and don't miss the seven best musical moments from past Olympic ceremonies right here.
