Rapper Lil Za Arrested for Drugs at Justin Bieber's Home
UPDATE: The police reportedly mistook the drug they found at Bieber's residence for cocaine and have amended their initial report. According to E!, the substance was actually MDMA, i.e., molly.
The LAPD raided Justin Bieber's home on Tuesday, January 14, looking for evidence linking the singer to a horrific egging incident from last week. While there's no word on what happened with the pop star, the police did walk out with rapper/Bieber pal Lil Za in handcuffs. Za was arrested for felony drug possession and booked less than 20 minutes later. He is currently being held on $20,000 bail.
According to a press conference (via E!), L.A. County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore confirmed there had been an arrest for cocaine possession at the 19-year-old star's Calabasas, CA, home. Whitmore added that it was in plain view when the officers arrived with a search warrant.
There is no official word on Bieber's whereabouts when the raid went down. Unsurprisingly, E! said his rep declined to comment.
E! also cited a police report stating that "the purpose of the search warrant is to seek video surveillance or other possible evidence in the vandalism that occurred on January 9, 2014. The vandalism damage is estimated by the homeowner to be approximately $20,000."
