Vampire Weekend's third studio album Vampires of the City showcased a very different sound.
And it's that new sound that won them a GRAMMY for Best Alternative Music Album.
In a Red Carpet interview with Fuse, producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Rostam Batmanglij, and famed producer, Ariel Rechtshaid, (who was brought in to work on the LP) spoke about the process behind a great record.
"It was a lot of hard work to find the right sound for the third record. To not ever repeat ourselves," Ariel says.
"To find a really good place for the third record."
And Rostam agrees, explaining the benefits of working with a second producer:
"The first two records I produced on my own and on this one I wanted to work with Ariel and I feel like it benefited from us going head to head."
