Rita Ora Lands Role in 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie
Rita Ora: London-based singer/songwriter, Jay Z protégé and now, it appears, a future Hollywood actress. Monday night, the British star announced she was cast in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey film.
She will play Mia Grey, the adopted younger sister of Christian Grey—the book's handsome businessman protagonist whose secret love of BDSM helped garner erotic novel trilogy's cult-like following.
Is Ora the right actress for the role? A Fifty Shades fansite says Mia was born in France (Ora was born in Yugoslavia and has a British accent), plays cello (Rita only sings) and is tall, curvaceous and "raven-haired with a sleek bob" (Ora is 5'5'' with platinum blonde hair).
But a Fifty Shades fan with impressive Photoshop skills made this rendering to show what Ora would look like as Mia. We think it works!
To date, Ora's acting gigs have been limited—her biggest role was an unaccredited racer in Fast & Furious 6. Which means this is a huge opportunity for the budding actress.
Fifty Shades of Grey hits theaters on February 13, 2015.
