'Portlandia' Taps Josh Homme, Duff McKagan for New Season
Portlandia, the hipster-skewering brainchild of Saturday Night Live alum Fred Armisen and musician Carrie Brownstein, announced a slew of musician cameos for their upcoming fourth season.
According to Radio.com, Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, Velvet Revolver's Duff McKagan, Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe, former Dead Kennedys frontman Jello Biafra, The Monkees' Michael Nesmith, St. Vincent and k.d. lang will all make appearances on the show, which kicks off February 27 on IFC.
There's no word yet on which skits the venerable musicians will appear in, though St. Vincent has already appeared as a fashion model in Season 2. Our personal favorites: Jack White as Armisen's Christmas miracle and No Doubt in a hot air balloon.
As Pitchfork notes, the series also announced numerous actor cameos as well, including Kirsten Dunst, Maya Rudolph, Olivia Wilde and Saturday Night Live's Vanessa Bayer.
