Major Lazer's genre-blurring banger "Bubble Butt" was a treat for EDM, hip hop and dancehall fans. And now a new remix brings another fan base to the mix: K-pop fans!
Major Lazer recruited Korean rappers TOP and G-Dragon, both members of K-pop boy band BIGBANG, who lay down a joint verse in Korean and pepper in quick English phrases ("GD and TOP / So fly and sexy," spits G-Dragon). The duo join the eclectic mix of guest features on the track, including Bruno Mars, Tyga and San Francisco MC Mystic.
Fans of Fuse's Best New Artist of 2013 and his bandmember will be happy to see the MCs reunited with Diplo, Major Lazer's most-prominent producer. Diplo produced hip hop track "Knockout" (below) for G-Dragon and TOP's collaboration album, 2010's GD&TOP. Diplo also co-produced G-Dragon's new trap single "Coup D'Etat" with Baauer for the K-pop star's 2013 EP, Coup D'Etat, Pt. 1.
In July, the Major Lazer producer tweeted that he would be flying out to shoot a video for the "Korean version" of "Bubble Butt" when the track finished. We have the song, now only one question remains: Will the giant butt monster inject G-Dragon and TOP with big booties a la the original video?
