Lady Gaga has never been shy about showing off her body. And Marina Abramovic has never had a problem getting performance-art-weird in front of a room of strangers. Put these two things together and what do you get? Lady Gaga howling some kind of bird call as she poses naked in a field. And it's all on video for your viewing pleasure!
It starts innocently enough. In the video, "The Abramovic Method Practiced by Lady Gaga," the "Burqa" singer is seen lying on a hardwood floor wearing what looks like white scrubs. She exhales a giant, 30-second sound that echoes throughout the room. The next thing you know, Gaga is totally naked walking through a field wearing a mask. Then she's totally naked bent over in a forest. Then she's totally naked seated on a large crystal. Then the video is over, two and half minutes of your life is over, and here is what your face looks like.
The Abramovic Method, for those of you wondering, "helps participants to develop skills... through a series of exercises and environments designed to increase awareness of their physical and mental experience in the moment." Gaga took part in the exercise at the Marina Abramovic Institute in upstate New York.
So some pop stars escape to a performance art retreat in the woods to get "in the moment," others like, do yoga or something. Different strokes.
