Eminem Announces New Album 'MMLP2'
And here we thought Eminem joined Instagram just to give us the finger. Turns out the rapper is prepping the November 5 release of MMLP2, the sequel to 2000's Marshall Mathers LP and first album since 2010's underwhelming Recovery.
Em announced the album via a Beats by Dre commercial during Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards. Dr. Dre and Rick Rubin were announced as the album's executive producers, which for Rubin presumably means engaging in a "mad dash" to finish the album or lying on a couch, nodding softly and not being involved in any of the actual production.
We've already heard one track, "Survival," from the album. The ad below gives us a preview of the Beastie Boys-inspired track "Berzerk," the album's Rubin-produced first single dropping to iTunes at midnight on Tuesday, August 27. No word yet on which other tracks will make the final cut.
