Diplo Says Beyonce "Scrapped" New Material
Famed DJ and producer Diplo answered one of the two questions that entire world is dying to know: 1. Is Beyonce preggo? 2. Is her new album coming out soon?
OK, it's number 2. It looks like it may be a while before we get our paws on a new record, as he thinks that Queen Bey may have "scrapped" all the songs he was working on for her upcoming LP.
Beyonce has been keeping busy doing things like freaking out Republican lawmakers by taking an anniversary trip to Cuba, becoming the face of retail clothing giant H & M, oh, and killing it at the Super Bowl half-time show.
Which is good and all (well, awesome actually) but where the heckfire is the follow-up to 4? She's graced us with "Standing in the Sun" from her H & M commercial and "Grown Woman" from her Pepsi ad and the ganster rap surprise "Bow Down," but none of the tracks have been attributed to an album.
It appears that the answer is that Beyonce Knowles is quite the perfectionist. In an interview with the Sun, Diplo talked a bit about the "Run the World" singer.
"I just did two songs for her new album, well, I tried. I think she scrapped the record," he said.
"The record was supposed to be done and they have been hitting me up for brand new ideas. I like to work from scratch, [but] sometimes I get called in to fix songs."
For her part, Beyonce simply Instagrammed a note scratched in sharpie on the corner of a legal pad that reads:
"Genius is nothing but a great capacity for patience."
There's a reason they call her the Queen...
