Kelly Rowland & Paulina Rubio Revealed as New 'X Factor' Judges
Following the exit of music mogul L.A. Reid and pop princess Britney Spears, two new judges for The X Factor have been unveiled. Destiny's Child survivor Kelly Rowland and Latin pop singer Paulina Rubio will join Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell as judges on the third season, one week after auditions kicked off in Denver.
This actually isn’t Rowland's first X Factor experience. She judged Season 8 of the British version of the show, which was the year that produced Little Mix, a girl group who are successfully making more waves in the U.S. than either of the two champions on the American X Factor.
As for Rubio, she might not be a familiar face on the American mainstream media but the Mexican-born singer has successfully kept her career in the Latin Pop big leagues since the '80s, so her success more than qualifies her for the show. And chances are Cowell has his fingers crossed that she'll bring in a new demographic to his show, which has been steadily losing audiences since its inauspicious debut three years ago.
