'American Idol' Winner Candice Glover Duets With Jennifer Hudson
Justice has been served by the American people! Candice Glover won the 12th season of American Idol. The 23-year-old South Carolina R&B singer beat out country singer Kree Harrison for the top spot, and the finale featured no shortage of vocal Olympics.
Judge/human butterfly Mariah Carey took to the stage to stand in exactly one position (and one position only) as she sassed her way through a medley of her greatest hits. Sure, we'll call it "sassed." If you missed it, this GIF about sums it up. (You can also watch it here.)
The stand-out moment of the show, though, came before the results when former Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson (and now halfway to an EGOT, NBD) joined eventual winner Candice onstage for a performance of Natalie Cole classic "Inseparable." And girl, we can't even. So many runs! So many flailing hands! Even the judges couldn't take it—Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson and Mariah are all seen throwing their hands to the stage as if to say, "OK, I think we're done here."
Many congrats to Candice (who tried out for Idol three years in a row)! Her debut album, Music Speaks, drops July 16.
