White House Responds to Jay-Z's "Open Letter" on Controversial Cuban Trip
As difficult as it is to imagine a rapper exaggerating the facts when bragging about his jet-set life, it appears Jay-Z did just that on his latest track "Open Letter."
Although Jay boasted about receiving "White House clearance" for his recent trip to Cuba with Beyonce, the Obama administration has flat-out denied that claim. "The White House from the President on down had nothing to do with anybody's travel to Cuba," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters. "That is something the Treasury handles."
Then why, pray tell, did Hova name-check the Pres when explaining his controversial trip to the embargoed country?
"I guess nothing rhymes with 'Treasury.' Because Treasury offers and gives licenses for travel as you know, and the White House has nothing to do with it," Carney said.
To which the entire universe replied, "Ohhhh SNAP."
