The Wanted's Nathan Sykes Goes on "Unforeseen Hiatus"
Vocal cords injuries are the new rehab.
After vocal hemorrhaging sidelined Adele and John Mayer in recent years, the Wanted's Nathan Sykes now joins the bloody club, with the singer announcing that he'll be going on "unforeseen hiatus" to undergo throat surgery on Thursday in Los Angeles.
Sykes took to his Twitter to simply state, "Gutted," while the band's rep issued a more official statement:
"We can confirm that The Wanted's Nathan Sykes will undergo specialist throat surgery on Thursday 18th April in Los Angeles and as such will be taking unforeseen hiatus form The Wanted. The priority for Nathan, his label and management is that he is given time to recover and receive the best treatment possible. The remaining four members of The Wanted will continue fulfilling the band's promotional commitments across the world."
No word yet on how this will affect The Wanted Life, the band's upcoming reality show on E!, though with the group still shooting, it's possible we'll see disgusting, disgusting vocal surgery for ratings and profit in the near future.
