Dave Grohl's Sound City Players, Justin Timberlake to Play SXSW
Along with delivering a much anticipated keynote speech at SXSW this year, Billboard has confirmed that Dave Grohl is set to play an exclusive show at Stubbs called "Sound City Players at SXSW."
The show will support Grohl's Sound City documentary and will feature heavy hitters Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Rick Springfield, Lee Ving of Fear, Rick Nielsen and Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine, among others. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, March 5, but they're only available to Citi card members and select SXSW badgeholders via lottery. Keep Austin weird! (And sponsored!)
More from the SXSW front: According to the Austin Police Department, Justin Timberlake is throwing a private party during the festival (!!!). And wait, there's more—according to KVUE, police have also heard rumors of a surprise performance from the "Mirrors" singer, but there are no details as to where or when. The bigger question: how do the cops know about JT's performance but no one else does?
