Thirty Seconds to Mars Debut New Song "Up in the Air" From Space
When you're Jared Leto, you don't just release your band's new single via YouTube or Soundcloud or any of those sophomore outlets. (No offense, Beyonce.) No, the 30 Seconds to Mars frontman decided that the band's new single, "Up in the Air," should have a bit more of a grandiose release... FROM SPACE.
We're not really sure about the logistics of the whole thing, but a rocket containing the song shot off into space on March 1, and well, today we have the single. Magic! (Maybe they picked up some tips from will.i.am?)
About "Up in the Air," Jared Leto told KROQ (via radio.com), "It’s a nice way to start things off. [The song has] got a lot of energy. This is a brand new experience for us. This album is a completely new direction. It’s more than even an evolution, it’s a brand new beginning.”
30 Seconds to Mars have also revealed their new album title, LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS, as well as a release date of May 21. "I think those four words all mean something very special to us," Leto said of the title. "They are themes that come up repeatedly in the album. Each of those words is used at least once in every single song on the album."
