FUSE TV - Austin Mahone, Flo Rida Team Up for "Say You're Just a Friend"
Twenty-four years after Biz Markie recorded the hip hop classic "Just a Friend" (and 11 after Mario covered it), 16-year-old pop star Austin Mahone enlists pop-rap superstar Flo Rida to update Biz's track.
The third released song from his upcoming debut album ups the tempo of the original and transforms it into a radio-friendly lite-pop track. If LFO was still around, they'd have dude open for them. To his credit, Flo Rida name checks Biz for the kids who've never heard of him (despite trying to guess the year in the lyrics), and proving that Biz's track will never, ever die.
