Just two weeks after rocking his leather kilt at the 12-12-12 benefit for Hurricane Sandy victims, Kanye West's obsession with progressive fashion took a turn for the arctic Friday night—dude stepped onstage in all white, including, yes, a white skirt, plus a pair of masks, lookin' like hip hop's abominable snowman or, say, the Wampa from Star Wars' planet Hoth. But covered in diamonds, natch.
'Ye's first of three shows at Atlantic City's Revel Resort was an over-the-top spectacle with seven massive screens, falling snow and the two masks—one covered in sparkling diamonds, which he donned while performing a remix of Rihanna's "Diamonds," and another that made him looking like what one YouTube user called "Kanyeti." Kanye: Bringing whole new meaning to Cruel Winter, the title of his upcoming album project.
Fashion & Style reports that the diamond mask was designed by Maison Martin Margiela, while The Source has photos.
So, can we refer to West as "Kanyeti" until his next bold fashion move? I vote "yes."
