Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye Recording New Album with TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek
Is Liam Gallagher's new band Beady Eye (who are essentially Oasis without Noel Gallagher) a bit too conservative and derivative for you? Do you enjoy their songs but find them too similar to Oasis (who themselves were often criticized for being too similar to the Beatles)? If so, great news; the band just announced plans to record their new album with TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek. As Stereogum notes, Sitek has worked with everyone from Usher to Swedish electronic pop artist Lykke Li, so you can be sure that, whatever the new album sounds like, it won't be another "Wonderwall."
No word yet on a release date yet, but work on the album started today so hopefully we'll have the new record sometime early next year. Oh, and that sound you hear? That's older brother Noel frantically calling up an even more experimental producer to keep the sibling rivalry alive.
