After Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj were named American Idol's newest judges, rumors of the two divas not getting along started almost immediately.
Idol producers, and even Mariah herself, initially downplayed the buzz. Today things seemed to have escalated to a new high (low?) during auditions for the singing competition's upcoming 12th season.
Earlier today TMZ reported Idol auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina, were postponed due to a spat between Nicki and Mariah, which they later updated with actual on-set video from the incident.
Though audio is hard to make out, it appears Nicki was upset and began cussing out Mariah. Mariah can be heard saying "Why?!" over and over. In fact, Mariah then posted—and later deleted—the tweet: "Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy"
What do you think: Is Idol's new season doomed from the start? Will Nicki and Mimi kiss and make up? Or, is this all just a calculated way to incite buzz for the new season? After all, last season's Idol finale received the series' lowest finale ratings to date.
