By now, you've probably seen Billie Joe Armstrong's onstage meltdown at iHeartRadio Festival last weekend, a blistering tirade against the corporate tyrants for which he would later profusely apologize and end up in rehab.
Celebuzz caught up with Claudia Suarez Wright, Green Day drummer Tre Cool's ex-wife and mother of Armstrong's godson, who offered her two cents on the situation.
"When he was in Vegas, he was drinking a lot," Wright said. "The night of the show he had been drinking. In Las Vegas there's a lot of temptation to drink and it’s tough to be around when you’re fighting against it."
"He's doing okay," added Wright. "He's with his family."
Green Day's publicist was unavailable to comment at press time.
The band issued a statement two days after their set, stating, "Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse. We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances."
