Travis Barker spoke to Fuse recently about his various tattoos. The interview covered everything from his first tattoo, which was burned off during his plane crash four years ago, to his most recent, which covers his head. Here are some excerpts:
On his first tattoo: "It got burned off in my plane crash. It doesn’t exist anymore. It was my nickname, Bones, written just like the palprota bones. It had a Dag Nasty symbol right above it. That’s a hardcore band I really liked. Still do really like."
On his head tattoo: "I just finished my head. I always wanted my head done. I had seen someone when I was young with their whole head done. During summer time, it was shaved and you could see the tattoos. And then you can grow your hair out, and no one can tell."
On whether tattoos hurt: "I've always gone in completely sober. Some people want a drink or a painkiller, but it doesn't really bother me. The whole feeling of getting tattooed is something that I look forward to. It's a good feeling to me. There are times, like right on my hairline, where it has started to get annoying, like maybe six or seven hours into it, but it's not to the point where you'd say 'stop' or dare say, 'ouch!'"
