FUSE TV - Lil Boosie Found Not Guilty in Murder Trial
29-year-old Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie was found not guilty of murder, according to Baton Rouge news station WFAB.
Prosecutors said Boosie, whose real name is Terrance Hatch, had hired a man to kill 35-year-old Terry Boyd, who was shot to death while inside his home in 2009. The rapper's defense team argued that there was no evidence linking Boosie to Boyd and that the charges had been trumped by the local police department.
"This man has been innocent," defense attorney Jason Williams told WFAB. "He's been innocent this whole time. Fans across the whole world have been praying for this. And, I thank God that justice was swift. I thank God that the truth came out." The case made national attention, in part, after prosecutors tried to link the rapper's lyrics to the murder case.
It's not all good news for Hatch, though. The rapper is currently serving an 8-year sentence at Louisiana State Penitentiary on drug charges.
