How Was Slaughterhouse's "Welcome to: Our House" Made?
Do you know how Eminem signees Slaughterhouse, aka rap veterans Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Crooked I and Royce da 5'9", came up with their name? What's their process in the studio like? How will having a hit like "Hammer Dance" change their approach to making music in the future? Fuse's Esteban Serrano sits down with the supergroup to dig into all of these questions and more.
The best part is when Joe Budden talks about how it's not enough if just Eminem likes them: "At least Eminem thinks were dope, [but] we need the people to think that as well. That part is important. Em could go buy our album: that's a copy sold!"
Joe Budden also talks about the A-list producers they worked with: "Alchemist came in, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League... Oh my god, my J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League Record! No ID, Boi-1da. We sat down with quite a few people and picked their brain, and vice versa, just so we could get on the same page, and I think that's why the music turned out as great as it did."
