HIP HOP: Lil' Kim Banned From Releasing Music
Haters everywhere are celebrating today after Lil' Kim announced that she is legally banned from releasing music because of ongoing lawsuits with her previous record labels. She said, "Contractually, by the courts, I could not record any music. I wasn’t supposed to put any music out. Technically, Black Friday was a mixtape, so I was able to get away with that. But technically, they could have come after me if I were to put out an album." You won't be hearing anything from her for a while! [AllHipHop]

HARD ROCK: Nick Oliveri Quits Kyuss Lives!
Nick Oliveri, the mercurial bassist who founded Kyuss with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone age, and who went on to be in Kyuss Lives!, a reincarnation of Kyuss without Josh Homme, has finally quit Kyuss Lives! He probably quit because he's in a world of legal trouble personally, or maybe because Kyuss Lives! is in a world of legal trouble as a band. [Ultimate Guitar]
HARD ROCK: Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx Can't Look Like a Roadie
Nikki Sixx, the 53-year-old bassist of Motley Crue, is about to head out on tour with the band, and he wants to put aside any concerns you may have about his age. He said, "The longer you've been around, the better you get. And if there's anything that young musicians [should] take away from this, you can't look like a roadie and be in a f***ing band... You've gotta be a rock star. You've gotta dress like a rock star, you've gotta play music that's important, you've gotta put 100% percent into your lyrics, 100% into your songs, a hundred percent into your show." Got it? You can not look like a roadie. [Blabbermouth]
INDIE: The Morning Benders Change Their Name
San Francisco indie rockers The Morning Benders recently learned that "bender" is a slang term for a homosexual in the U.K. and Europe, so they're changing their name to POP ETC. The lead singer said, in a statement on the band's website, "We were told our band name was the equivalent of 'the Morning Fags'... We simply cannot go on using a name that is demeaning to the gay community."
