Tameka "Tiny" Harris Talks Solo Career and Relationship with T.I.

R&B heads know her as multi-platinum group Xcape's Tameka Cottle, while others follow her week-to-week on VH1's T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle. Now ready for her long overdue return to the music industry, Tameka "Tiny" Harris hopes to leave her mark on the charts once again with her debut solo single, "What You Gon Do."

Sitting down with Trending 10, the 39-year-old veteran explained how her relationship with husband T.I. shaped her approach to music, as well as whether her material can, at times, get too personal. "It has real-life moments," she said of the song. "It's things I was going through and feeling at the time, around a year ago when I wrote this. What better way to express that than through a song? I feel like other women can relate to it as well–it could be like a women's anthem."

Currently in its fourth season, T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle has chronicled the lives of Harris and her family since 2011. A mother of six, the Georgia native has managed to raise humble children even under the glaring limelight. So how exactly does she do it?

"They're normal kids, they're not always modest," Tiny admits. "Sometimes I have to tell them, 'Hey, watch yourself.' We keep them grounded by doing normal things and letting them know when they're out of line."
