Even if you don't recognize Act As If by name, chances are you've probably heard them in your favorite TV show. The Los Angeles-based, indie-pop act has had their music featured in—take a deep breath here—Pretty Little Liars, The Real World, Cougar Town, Teen Mom, The Vineyard and more. The quintet is prepping the release of their sophomore album Steady next month and have a single perfect to accompany TV's next epic romance scene.
Fuse is proud to premiere Steady's euphoric lead single "L.A. Kid." Listen above for the gorgeous mix of lush guitars, gorgeous harmonies and rushing percussion all packed into this sync-ready single.
"'L.A. Kid' is a love song about a girl who lived a few blocks away from me, in downtown L.A.," Act As If vocalist Peter Verdell says of the track's inspiration. "She was really fun and smart and pretty and she lived in an awesome loft, but what I found most attractive was her crazy work ethic and the passion she put behind everything she did. I think lots of people come to big cities to chase dreams but often aren't willing to really fight for them. It's special to find a fighter."
Fall in love with the passionate track above and look out for Steady to drop next month. Oh, and listen up for "L.A. Kid" next time you turn on the TV.
