Metallica Unplug to Cover The Beatles' "In My Life"
What do you get when you pair one of the all-time best metal bands with one of the all-time best songs? Metallica covering the Beatles' "In My Life," naturally.
Blabbermouth reports that last night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, the band was on hand at the 10th anniversary benefit concert for MusiCares MAP Fund, where they played a short acoustic set of cover songs. Along with the Beatles, they tackled Deep Purple's "When a Blind Man Cries," Rare Earth's "I Just Want to Celebrate" and Ozzy's "Diary of a Madman." The last song was a direct homage to Osbourne and Black Sabbath, who were this year's honorees.
Aside from taking on classic rock covers, Metallica are in the process of writing and recording their next studio album, the follow-up to 2008's Death Magnetic.
