Miley Cyrus Recruits Lana Del Rey Hitmaker for "Adore You" Remix
Love her or hate her, Miley Cyrus' Bangerz era has been a hit on the charts so far. Comeback single "We Can't Stop" hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 while follow-up "Wrecking Ball" was a three-week chart topper. The third single, however, stalled at No. 22: While certainly not a flop, "Adore You" pales in comparison... so far.
So "this generation's Madonna" called up French DJ/producer Cedric Gervais for help. Gervais is the same dude who reworked Lana Del Rey's mid-tempo "Summertime Sadness" joint into a euphoric dance jam, landing both artists their first Top 10 hit and helping the pouty-lipped singer reclaim artistic integrity.
This new "Adore You" version takes a similar route as "Summertime Sadness," pasting Cyrus' crooning over a punchy EDM production in place of the moody, pop ballad beat.
