Exclusive: Alt-Metal Veterans Sevendust Confront Mortality in Sinister "Decay" Video
Sevendust needs no introduction among metalheads.
The Atlanta quartet has survived and thrived for almost two decades, and today the band’s ninth (!!) studio album Black Out the Sun officially drops via 7 Bros. Lucky fans get a sneak peek right here with the Fuse exclusive premiere of the music video for the first single.
“Decay” is exactly what we love hearing from Sevendust, all rolled up into a three-and-a-half-minute barrage of metal goodness. As guitarist and backing vocalist John Connolly describes it: “Our style is our style. We constantly strive for a better version of it.”
It’s easy to see why the song is currently lighting up the active rock charts. From the track’s relentless, pounding rhythm to its wailing guitar solo, it’s clear the band are more comfortable than ever working together.
Lead vocalist Lajon Witherspoon succinctly sums it up:
