CL Drops Intense "Hello Bitches" Single & Dance Video: Watch
As we reported last week, CL's U.S. takeover begins with her first English solo song "Hello Bitches." Now, we get the first taste of that album with the intense song and accompanying dance video.
Premiered via Vice's Noisey, "Hello Bitches" is a powerful and playful hip-hop banger that sees the 2NE1 singer-rapper spitting about her international jet-setting life, mixing lines about shopping sprees in Tokyo before asking, "stop blowing up my phone and won’t you hit me up on Kakao?" referring to the messaging service popular in South Korea. Most interestingly, CL mixes loads of Korean into what's supposed to be an indication of her English direction, perhaps meaning she could bringing a bilingual edge to her music that we haven't seen in a long time.
CL told Noisey about the track and why she decided to make it bilingual rather than full-on English:
"It's not an official single but more of a street single. I wanted to give a little surprise video to excite the fans who have been waiting while I prepare for my solo album. Since I am Korean, it's a good way of presenting me and it's for everyone around the world to see where I am from and to keep it authentic."
