YouTube singer-songwriter Tori Kelly (refresher: 2012's 22-million-times-viewed cover of Frank Ocean's "Thinkin Bout You"?!) has been working with Justin Bieber's star-making manager, Scooter Braun, for her debut album for a bit now. Pharrell, Ed Sheeran, and Max Martin all put in work on it, and the first single is now here in lyric video form.
"Nobody Love" is an impressive jam all dressed for warm weather fun. Not that Tori Kelly's YouTube days were anything less than sweet, but she's come a long way from acoustic bedroom covers. The slick, professional horns on "Nobody Love" could hang with the brass in Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off," and the old-school drums and thick, layered harmonies are grabby as hell—and vaguely TLC-ish? We're kinda imagining "Nobody Love" fitting very nicely into an episode of Glee.
The single—which is available on iTunes—has us extra hyped up for Tori Kelly's album. Till then, we've always got those greatest YouTube hits to revisit...
